"It was a lovely environment: peaceful, comfortable, relaxed and safe. I loved the small group work with Chris's constructive comments. Singing with others of a similar standard and learning some good songs with a fun learning style was just great." Experienced singers weekend, November 2018

To be eligible for this weekend, you must be able to confidently hold a harmony part on your own and have done so regularly in the past.
All songs will be taught by ear, there will be no sheet music used.
To book, email Chris with a brief description of your harmony singing experience. He will then send you a booking form.
Take your singing to the next level by working as a small ensemble over a whole weekend. Unlike Better harmony singing: the small group challenge, there will be less emphasis on vocal training and more on singing together with one voice to a part.
This weekend course is limited to a maximum of 16 singers. You must have extensive harmony singing experience and have sung with just one voice on each harmony part. You also need to be flexible vocally and be able to pick up new songs quickly.
This is your chance to explore your voice in a safe environment with a supportive bunch of like-minded singers. All of whom want to explore and stretch their harmony singing abilities. Serious work, but in a fun style!
The Claret Centre at Buckden Towers is a Victorian house set in a fifteen-acre estate offering seclusion and tranquillity. Gardens and natural features surround a beautiful collection of buildings from diverse historical periods. These include a Tudor knot garden, a lake, woodland walk, pasture and lawns. Buckden itself is a pleasant village which used to be an old coaching stop on the Great North Road.
Accommodation is in twin rooms all with shared bathrooms (no en-suites). We will have the entire main house to ourselves over the weekend. The weekend includes all meals, tuition and tea/ coffee breaks.
Comments from 2018's Experienced singers weekend:
"Thank you for a great singing weekend. I loved the range of music you chose for us, your relaxed way of teaching, the venue, the voices and the lovely people. All week I have caught myself humming all the songs and harmonies at work – how great is that?!"
"The level was just right. It was good that everyone was able to keep up with the challenges. I particularly liked that we kept changing parts and could not settle into our comfort zone. It was good fun and kept us on our toes."
"The weekend had a friendly, all-inclusive feel with a very positive attitude an non-judgmental – the underlying assumption was that everyone could do it! Good material – challenging, but not beyond us. I loved hearing the group harmonies"
"There was a great mix of material with Chris's willingness to introduce new challenges and trust us to be able to do things. Enough (but not too much) free time. Good mix of voices with similar ability. I especially liked the small group work."
